Power markets worldwide are undergoing fundamental shifts in their supply mix, and as a result the carbon emission intensity of electric grids (i.e. the emissions per unit of electricity produced) is evolving rapidly. This change has substantial repercussions on the carbon footprint of corporations operating in these markets, and on their ability to become net zero in the future.

Emma-Xie He is a senior research analyst in the North American Power and Renewables team at S&P Global Commodity Insights. She leads corporate procurement outlook in North America, contributes to the broader power modelling effort, and consults on power market development. Her research also covers power demand forecasting, electrification trends, electric vehicles, and energy efficiency.
